Porcelight ApS manufactures the porcelain lamps designed by Erik Magnussen. The Porcelights lamps – all in porcelain – have exquisite characteristics. The lamp is white and simple by day when the lamp is turned off, and has a unique and a warm golden glow at night when the light is on. At the same time the porcelain lamp emits excellent downwards light directly from the halogen light bulb which makes it an excellent choice for a reading or kitchen lamp. The lamp is glare free and therefore very pleasant.
Awardwinning Erik Magnussen is the designer behind the classic Porcelight lamps. Erik Magnussen, originally trained as a ceramist, has an impressive design portfolio within furniture and applied arts. His work is showed in museums worldwide.
Originally designed for Louis Poulsen by Erik Magnussen the Porcelight lamp was born in 1982 at that time known as the PorceLouis lamp. The PorceLouis lamp was part of the Louis Poulsen brand until the late 1980′s. By that time all rights were returned to Erik Magnussen, and the production stood still until 2005 where the lamp was reborn under the name Porcelight.
